Sista’s Common Sense Corner was birthed by Ms. Charlotte Hill & Ms. Dail A. Hill, two sista’s, but not “really” sisters. As odd as it may seem to some, maybe even a coincidence, the Hill Sista’s met in 2005 working for San Bernardino County. By 2009 the coincidence had long been recognized by the two, as anything but coincidence. Through a few years of tears, fear, joy, laughter, pain, a lot of talking on and off the job, and most of all a whole lot of praying, they knew that there was yet another step to be taken in their relationship. As two single mothers, both wanted desperately to find a way to make their lives, and the lives of their families better. Over time, ideas came and went.
In May 2009 this idea flowed as only God can produce in his time. Instantly both knew that this time, it was the right idea, and the right time. Sista’s Common Sense Corner was spoken into existence using the tools God has provided their lives, life itself.
Charlotte is a single mother of three, and grandmother of one. I received my Masters in Business Administration in 2005. My love for people, and heart after that of Christ led me to work for California Children’s Services. That is also the road which led to the meeting of Dail who is a single mother of two, and grandmother of four.
Dail came to work with California Children’s Service in 2005 after several years in the mortgage industry. Charlotte and I bonded almost instantly, sharing not only our passion for helping others, but our love of the Lord.
Soon, we began to realize that our connection was anything but accidental, and through days of tears and fear, joys and laughter, we knew that what we had between us, needed to be offered to women everywhere, from all walks of life, all creeds and colors.
Throughout our sisterhood we have shared some of our deepest thoughts, feelings, and situations, at times the responses we got from one another weren’t what we “wanted to hear”, but was what we “needed to hear”, and that is what has sealed us to be more than friends, we are SISTA’S.
We offer Sista’s Common Sense Corner as that ear to hear what you may not have heard, maybe to just see that you’re not the only one “going through”, maybe you can offer “what needs to be heard” by another sista, just remember, “Womanhood makes us Sista’s”.
Sista’s we look forward to the journey together.
Love Ya,
Charlotte and Dail
